IAWPF Policy Six

 

REQUESTS FOR CHARITABLE CONTRIBUTIONS

 

A.  Policy:

1)      All requests for charitable contributions must be submitted in writing to the Board of Directors of the IAWP Foundation.

2)      The monetary limit for charitable contributions in a calendar year is $500 per organization or project.

3)      The total annual budget for charitable contributions shall not exceed $2,000.

4)      This policy does not limit other resources and fund-raising events for requests that exceed the annual budget for contributions.

5)      The Board of Directors of the IAWP Foundation may supersede the policy for charitable contributions for just cause.  Just cause is defined as being in the best interest of the IAWP Foundation.  This justification must be in writing and recorded by the Secretary.

 

B.  Criteria:

1)      All requests must be in the best interest of the IAWP and the IAWP Foundation.  The following criteria should be considered:

(a)    Is the individual/group making the request a member of IAWP?

(b)    Is the individual/group and the activity supportive of goals and objectives of IAWP?

(c)    Does the individual/group address criminal justice issues, concerns, etc., and have a history of the same?

(d)    Does the individual/group have any conflicts of interest with IAWP on law enforcement issues/concerns?

(e)    Is the requested contribution in concert with IAWP mission and goals?
